Certificate and Diploma in Programme & Project Management Hourly Briefing Sessions
Suitable for
Project managers who wish to extend their programme and project management skills and knowledge across a range of disciplines and methodologies to achieve a Diploma level qualification, as a step towards Chartered Manager status.
Delegates are expected to be working within a programme or project environment – the qualification is also open to those working towards being a project or programme manager.
Exemptions may be given for those who have already achieved a recognized programme or project qualification or who have previously studied with TPG Academy.
Summary
The Diploma in Programme and Project Management was developed jointly by the Chartered Management Institute and the APM Group in response to the increasing recognition of project management as a generic management discipline and the desire of project managers to achieve chartered manager status. It focuses on the development of a clear understanding of the discipline and methodologies underpinning successful programme and project management and their practical application.

# These courses introduce structured methods and are currently based on the public domain methods PRINCE2®, M_o_R® and MSP™. PMBoK® and industry specific options will be available in the future. Company specific methods can also be included as required.
Objectives
By completing this programme delegates will be able to:
- Understand the business, social and political contexts which affect programmes and projects
- Develop a focused and disciplined approach to developing and implementing plans, monitoring and controls in programme and project management
- Apply a range of methodologies to programmes and projects
- Enhance communication and use information more effectively
- Improve team and individual performance.
Exam Structure
This course is structured around a number of assignments, which contribute towards a formal presentation to an external panel at the end of the programme.
To gain the Diploma award, delegates need to complete an integrative assessment, which enables them to demonstrate how they have brought together and applied their learning to a real workplace programme, project or case study.
External Assessment will be undertaken by the APM Group and the Chartered Management Institute.
The following optional exams can be included at an additional cost:
- PRINCE2® Foundation
- MSP™ Foundation
- APMP
- PMP®.
Study Options
This programme is extremely flexible and courses can be studied in the classroom or through distance learning - online, on CD or on paper. It is also possible to create your ideal study programme by using a combination of different study methods.
Certificate in Programme and Project Management
For delegates who prefer to take a progressive approach towards the Diploma, there is an intermediate qualification, the Certificate in Programme and Project Management.
To achieve the qualification, candidates need to complete the following TPG Academy learning modules:
- Project Initiation
- Project Planning
- Project Control
- PRINCE2® Foundation
- and 4 assignments.
Whilst the Certificate in Programme and Project Management is a valued qualification in its own right, units covered are included in the full Diploma in Programme and Project Management, and delegates can count these towards the Diploma qualification.
